Excavation

  • Site clearing (including disposal) - light vegetation – (Depending on m2 to clear, and site access, may require clearing by hand , which is increased charge due to labour costs)
  • Fill Pad excavation with new material (if existing soil is inadequate for base) – Depending on site access, may require mini loader in lieu of larger machinery, or by hand)
  • Compact the new extension area, plus an additional 1200mm beyond extension area (to be tested prior to concrete preparation to ensure adequate compaction as required by engineer and council requirements)
  • Excavate footings - m3 - complete (Depending on m2 to clear, and site access, may require clearing by hand , which is increased charge due to labour costs. Footing may require inspections prior to concrete placement, depending on council/shire permit requirements)
Best PRACTICE note - Compact footing with a ramming compactor and ensure footings achieve same compaction min. as required for slab sub base. Your builder should have a Perth Standard Penetrometer (PSP) to self-test.
